Macclesfield Forest & Shutlingsloe
Trip Date – Sat 15 August 2026
Trip Type – Group Hike
Difficulty – Moderate
Trail – Macclesfield Forest & Shutlingsloe Circular
Shutlingsloe gets called the Matterhorn of Cheshire, which is a stretch we know, but stand at the bottom and you’ll see why someone said it.
We’re starting in Macclesfield Forest, winding up through the trees and out onto the open hill, then up to the summit to stop for lunch with a view. It’s not a dfficult day, but a good level of fitness is still required.
Most people come on their own. Nobody stays on their own for long.
This trip is best accessed by car. For those travelling by public transport, the nearest station is Macclesfield (15 minutes by taxi or lift). Please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help arrange a pickup.
