Trip Dates – Saturday 22 – Sunday 23 August 2026
Trip Type – Campaway

Difficulty – Moderate
Location – Lake District, UK

Our one and only Campaway of the year and we’re not doing it by halves…
One night under the stars in the heart of the Lake District – Via Ferrata, firepits, cold dips and proper HELVETII vibes.

PLEASE NOTE: Whilst this trip is marked as moderate, it includes Via Ferrata Xtreme and a route with steep inclines – so make sure you’re comfortable with the fitness side and with heights!

All you have to do is turn up and enjoy the adventure — we take care of the rest.

What’s included?
  • Campsite

The perfect spot in the heart of the Lake District, giving us the perfect base for a full weekend of adventure.
We have our own exclusive field, where we can pitch up or park up… however you wish to camp.
Expect a relaxed, social set up – the kind of place that’s perfect for post-adventure food, laughs and proper HELVETII vibes after a big day outdoors.

  • Via Ferrata Experience for Saturday

Are you ready to take on the challenge?
It’s time to experience the Lake District like never before and take on Honister’s ultimate adventure, the Via Ferrata Xtreme. Expect a 3 hour adrenaline-fuelled adventure.
All essential equipment will be provided, but please come prepared for all seasons, with waterproof/windproof layers, gloves and strong footwear!

PLEASE NOTE – This activity is optional, so if you’d prefer to sit this one out and enjoy some downtime instead, that’s absolutely fine. However, as this is part of the overall weekend experience, there is no reduction in ticket price if you choose not to take part.
Via Ferrata Xtreme involves significant exposure — steep drops, cliff faces and high crossings. No climbing experience is needed and you’re clipped in throughout with a qualified guide, but you should be comfortable with heights.
For safety, there is a strict restriction of 18 stone (114KG), with a waist measuring no more than 43 inches and thighs less than 27 inches.
The activity is delivered by Honister and may be cancelled or amended by them at short notice due to weather or safety conditions. If that happens we will look to arrange an alternative activity for the day and update you straight away.

  • Planned Trail and Cold Dip for Sunday (Moderate)

We will be exploring the stunning Buttermere, one of the Lake District’s most iconic lakes, and taking on Warnscale Beck to take in the views!
Expect dramatic lake views, cold dips and a proper summit-feel finish to round off the weekend.
To check out the trail, please search for ‘Buttermere and Warnscale Beck Circular’ on AllTrails.

PLEASE NOTE – All trails are unguided and you participate at your own risk. Please check the route beforehand to ensure you have the correct fitness level and experience.
If the weather isn’t suitable for a cold dip, we will discuss other optional hikes of similar difficulties and decide as a group.
